Oof.

Well, that amazing overflowing happiness I was feeling last week has almost vanished completely! Not quite. But way more then I would like it to. Oh golly. But anyways. Even though I am not really in the mood, I figured it is about time I posted. It's been over a week! I want to share my owl poop adventure with you, but the pictures are not uploaded yet! Remind me!

So anyways. Track has started!! And guess what??? I'm like, the head captain!!!! WOW!! Okay, not the head captain. But he picked me first!! Crazy, huh? I don't know whether to be totally ecstatic or sort of bummed! Ah well. I'm glad I have track. It is good at keeping my mind of the rest of things, and I honestly love working out. And sweating. Sounds gross, yes I know! But it is so true. I love how I feel after! I can't even explain it, or put it in to words! I just love it!!! EXCEPT for the fact that I am so sore. I feel like a 75 year old lady!

Well, I don't have time for much more. I still haven't finished my Three Cups of Tea essay for English. Oh joy!!

Keep posted: there is owl poop in the near future! baha.

oh, HAPPY day!

Today was such a good day! This past weekend as a whole has been pretty much amazing. A couple low points, I will admit! But It has been so fabulous! My life just feels so good right now!! All today I just felt like bursting out in song! And at times, I did just that! Oh golly, me and Grayce are crazy together! But anyways. It was a fabulous day. My friend Cameron drew all over my homework folder, and now I laugh every time I look at it! I have the coolest friends! And the term is finally over! Hallelujah! The last 2 weeks of the term always stress me out. But I believe I pulled off a four-point-oh! If I actually did, that would be amazing. Anywho. There is a whole lot I want to blog about right now, but I don't have that much time. I'll have to catch up with all of that later! For now, I shall ramble on about how cool photography is. And all you 2 people who actually look at this boring little blog (thank you, Maryn and Morgan!) can yawn to yourselves and wonder why you waste your time reading this thing! HAH! Enjoy, peeps.

I find it amazing how by the push of a button you can capture a single moment in time forever. That is seriously so cool! I went through some of my photos today, and I was looking at all of the memories that have been captured that will last a life time. Each image tells a story. It brings back memories of the event, or reminds me of things I had forgotten. It's truly amazing if you ask me! I love the magazine National Geographic because it is photo journalism. Just by looking at the pictures, I learn the problems. I see emotion: sadness, worry, despair, joy, longing, fear, anger, anticipation. It teaches me a story just by showing one single second frozen in time. The one I just read/ looked at was about water. How important it is, how the quality and quantity is seriously depleting, things like that. Some of the images in there were so POWERFUL. Pictures just speak to you. It is almost bizarre at times how much pictures touch me, or scare me, or teach me, or make me feel. They have the power to change you. Of course everyone has heard the saying "A picture is worth a thousand words." I find this 100% true!

To become a photographer for National Geographic would be like a dream come true for me. To be able to travel around the world, and meet so many different people, with so many different problems or issues facing them. Gash, I can't even begin to imagine how amazing and even life changing that would be for me. I honestly love learning about things like that. Like the water crisis, what I just read. Geography has been one of my favorite classes this year because it is so incredible and eye-opening to me! If I could make a career of traveling the world with my camera and listening to people's problems and issues and worries, and be able to capture that so that everyone else to learn, I would be one happy woman. That would be honestly one of the coolest jobs ever. So for now, since my photography skills are about at level zero, I shall just work on the basics. And work my way up! And who knows. Someday you all might be seeing my work in National Geographic! And you will all (or both, hah hah) be able to say you knew me when I was a young 9th grade dweeb. :) Wouldn't that be amazing.

Well, my sisters are pushing for a dance party. I think I will go get rid of that energy that has been bubbling up inside me all day! Ta ta for now!

The Joy of Sundays

Oh, how I love Sundays! It is one of my favorite days of the week! It is a day totally dedicated to church and my family. I love going to church! It's great to have 3 hours of my life where I'm not thinking about the stresses of school, or what chores I have waiting to be done at home, or what homework is sitting undone on my bed, or all the drama of 9th grade. 3 hours of thinking and learning about my Savior. And then, I come home, and spend the rest of the day playing barbies with my little sisters, or making smoothies with my little sisters, or playing baseball with my little brother. Going for a walk and talking with my mom, baking cookies with my dad. It's all family time! Which I love! I feel like during the week, I don't spend near enough time with my family. I'm always busy with school or sports. Tonight, we went to the fields at Mueller Park and played soccer and baseball. Running and laughing with my amazing family. How much better can it get? Oh, it gets better. I spent the day in a sweatshirt 21 sizes to big for me, and my sweat shorts which are the most amazing shorts in the world. With my hair in the messiest pony-tail ever. Gotta love Sundays!

I also love stake dances! I was able to go to my first one last night. I haven't been old enough until now! Ugh. But anyways, it was a flippin BLAST AND A HALF!! I had SOOO much fun!! I was able to spend the night with all my favorite, crazy funny friends! Guys and girls! I have some of the greatest friends ever to step foot on this earth. They are amazing. And I don't know what I would do without them! It was one of the most fun nights with friends I have had in a really long time! It was so great, because this past week has been end of the term, and I have been completely stressed out with school and other things. It was the perfect end to a frustrating week! I can't wait for the next one!

This here is Morgabee. Also known as Morgs, Morgan, Crasy Lady, Morgabug, or Ninja Turtle! She is one of the amazing friends I was talking about.

This is also Morgabee:

Love her!
Happy Sunday!

The best words to ever be written on paper. the end.

This is the best book I have ever read. In my entire life! It is amazing. I was reading it during school one day, during the half hour reading time, and I started to cry! It wasn't embarrassing at all! It really was. But thats okay! Its the kind of book that just made me think so much. It also made me realize how extremely lucky I am to live in America during this time that I do. I cannot believe the horror those people went through, and how brave those Germans were who helped the Jews (FYI, this book is about the Holocaust). It made me cry and want to jump for joy at the same time! It was so incredibly well written. It is written from Death's perspective, which sounds morbid and creepy, but it just made the book 10 times better. The characters were amazing. I loved them all, each one seemed so completely real. They each had their personalities that made them jump out of the pages. They each had their flaws, their incredible qualities and separate beliefs. They just seemed like real people. It was like I was living there with theml too. I wanted to scream to Liesl (the main character) at times, trying to tell her what/what not to do. AHH! It was just incredible. Absolutely amazing! For anyone who hasn't read it, I fully recommend it!

My second favorite book has got to be The Secret Journal of Brett Colton. It is outstanding! And for anyone who hasn't read this book, I highly recommend it as well! Together, that makes a whole lot of pages! Better start reading!

SORE

I've decided that I need to be a healthier person. I'm not a healthy person! I need to start exercising, and eating better. Less sugar, less junk that I don't need. Yesterday me and my amazing friend MORGAN went to work out together. Today, it hurts to walk! It was an intense workout! But it felt so good. I always feel totally rejuvenated after a killer work out. Totally amazing! Until the next day. When I am sore. But then I came home, had a delicious turkey sammich for dinner. And asparagus! The funny thing is, I dont even LIKE asparagus! But It tasted so good to me last night that I ate half the bowl! It was crazy! So yes. That is my goal, to be a healthier person, and get in shape! We shall see how long it lasts! Hah.

The Best of EFY

WAS AMAZING! Some of the best talks I have ever heard. I felt totally inspired and completely touched by the spirit. It was the best way to spend a Saturday morning! The speakers were so inspirational and uplifting, and also down right funny! I brought a notebook so I could take notes. I wasn't expecting to feel like I needed to. But the talks were so incredible, I wrote so much down! I'm for sure going to turn to them whenever I am having a down day. It just really made think so much about my life, and the kind of person that I am. Lots of times, I compare myself to others, especially this one person I will not name! But I realized something. I am ME. I am an amazing person, who is strong, and genuine, and unique, and just me! And most importantly, I am a daughter of God. And he loves me. And he knows me, and he wants me to be happy. He will guide me throughout whatever troubles I face, as long as I live worthy. I need to life the standards that I have set for myself, and never relax or break them. I know that if i do this, I will live a happy life, and receive eternal blessings. It was just a great meeting! By the end, I was crying, and trying not to bawl! I learned and heard things I will take with me all trough out my high school years!

Skiing

Skiing is amazing! I got to go on Saturday with some of my friends, Grayce, Colby, and Smith! I had a blast. I was laughing so hard I couldn't even ski! Its a miracle I never actually fell on the ground. I had quite a few close calls though!

I love skiing because it's so refreshing. True, you are working your butt off and its very physically exhausting, when you ski hard. But it feels so amazing to be up in the cool mountain air, and away from all this pollution crap! Also, the mountains are absolutely gorgeous. Totally stunning. I could stay up there forever. I'm a total nature person, so the mountains are my thing. I love going down an empty hill, groomed of course, and just flying down. Sticking my arms in the air, feeling the wind in my face. I know that sounds totally dumb. But it makes me feel alive!! It's even cooler when its all powder, and you look down at your feet and you can't see your skis! Then it totally makes you feel like you are flying. It's crazy!

That girl next to me? (yes, sadly I am the one in the too big blue coat, it is my mother's. And yes, I know I stick out. And yes, I know I look like a giant blueberry.) Well, that is Grayce Myers, and she is pretty much my best friend. I love her to death! It was an amazing Saturday! And I hope it happens again!
